Wind Spinner Care & Maintenance:
Make sure to spray a UV protector (same as a polyurethane clear coat) on the spinner before taking the spinner outside. Weather you purchase a Wind Spinner from us, or buy your Wind Spinner elsewhere all Wind Spinners have a common fault, and that is they will discolor without a UV protector.
You may go to any Lawn & Garden Department and ask for a spray to protect your lawn & garden ornaments from fading in the sun. It will only cost one or two dollars per can. Spray your Wind Spinner and other ornaments every spring to ensure they will stay bright & shiny for years to come.
Also some of the wind spinners may get flattened a little during shipping. You can reshape your wind spinner by spreading the rings by hand to get even more of a 3-d effect on your wind spinner.
Wind Spinner Family Craft Project For Your Kids:
To start your wind spinner project you will need the following : A 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of colored paper, a protractor, a 12 inch ruler, a pair of scissors a piece of fishing line and crayons, markers or a picture to paste on your wind spinner.
STEP 1: Use protracter to draw a 4 inch circle in center of paper. Continue to use protracter to draw larger circles approximately 1/2 inch larger each time until you have a 8 inch circle for your last circle. Place a small hole in the center of outer ring at top of wind spinner. Draw a line in center from top of wind spinner to 4 1/2 inch circle and from bottom of 4 1/2 inch circle to bottom of outer ring of wind spinner. Now draw another line 1/4 inch to the left of center line and another line 1/4 inch to the right of center line both top and bottom. Now you can erase center lines both top and bottom. When you cut the inner circles you will stop at the 1/4 inch offset lines so as not to cut out all of the circles. DO NOT CUT THE 4 INCH INNER CIRCLE OUT !!! This is where your drawing or picture goes.
STEP 2: In 4 inch center circle make a drawing or paste your picture.
STEP 3: Cut out your wind spinner on outer circle with scissors.
STEP 4: With a pencil punch starter holes at start and stop points on inner circles on 1/4 inch offset lines. Take scissors and cut on lines to stop points.
STEP 5: Place fishing string in top hole and hang up to display.
